Huntington Avenue Plaza, Huntington Ave., Boston, MA



Initially this work entailed a
comprehensive exterior restoration
for a city block of retail
and office spaces fronting
onto Huntington Ave just
west of Symphony Hall. This
restoration included new window
systems, storefronts, and
façade elements of divergent
materials required sealing to
create a watertight façade.
Since this first project, PAF
has been commissioned to
provide various space planning
and food services planning
to the management of
this property.
The food services work has
been done for the management
company, and for the
Burger King franchise, and
for the Panera Bread franchise.
Additional work has
been done for offices on the
upper floors.

Dillon's Pub and Restaurant is a full service hospitality establishment located in the Back Bay. Our work entailed building a patio with stairs and asociated covers and entry marquis and gateways providing enclosure from and views to the street. We also oversaw the design permitting and installation of the windows to the old police station space. This work has allowed the location to be able to open up to the elements in the summer months.  It has become one of the favorite places to enjoy a beer and a burger either during or after watching the game.

PAF Architects served as Executive Architect for a new Fleming's Restaurant in the Westin Hotel in Providence and for additions to the Fleming's at Park Plaza in Boston.

Gardiner Building / Chart House Restaurant, Long Wharf, Boston, MA

The Chart House Restaurant is located in the historic18th century Gardner Building, the oldest building on Boston's waterfront.   PAF has performed several projects for the Chart House Restaurant including:

-    A complete interior renovation after a fire caused subsantial damage.

-    New kitchen and food service.

-   Saving the building from crumbling into Boston Harbor.  By working collaboratively with a team of engineering consultants and a construction manager, the work was accomplished on a 6-month fast track schedule, minimizing lost revenue by the restaurant.  Click here for more on this adaptive reuse project.

This project received a 2001 Preservation Award from the Massachusetts Historical Commission.

The Chart House Exterior View, Long Wharf

Mill Falls Apartments, Methuen, MA

This project involved adapting an existing complex of four historic mill buildings in Methuen, Massachusetts to be ninety-seven new units of apartment housing, including a 40% affordable component.
This project received a Preservation Award from the city of Methuen Historical District Commission and was featured on the cover of the Massachusetts Housing Finance Administration's 35th Anniversary Annual Report.
